HALLOWEEN CONTINUES!

Dear Parents,

This week, we finished our flying witches. We added the final touches by adding a popsicle broom with straw.  Our Halloween bulletin board is now finished, it looks spooktacular!

We decorated Halloween bags for the children to use while trick-or-treating.  The children were so excited with them.  They can't wait to take them home.

The letter of the week was the letter "H." The children learned how to write it and sound it out.  Some of the "H" words that the children came up were: hotdog, hot, house, hit, and hat.

In music class, the children sang a number of Halloween songs such as "Ten Little Ghosts" and "Creeping Creeping." The children were each given a flashlight and shined them up to the sky while listening to Halloween music.

Having a nap after a long day's work.
Notes from Ms. Peishuan:

We read a funny and surprising book called “Lion Lion” last week. It’s about a lion, and a cat his name is Lion.
Lion 獅子 shī zi
Where it is 在哪裡 zài nǎ lǐ
This week we read a book , “A monkey, a bee and bananas”. In this story there’s also a lion (shī zi ) so that we can review what we just learned last week. Monkey, bee and banana appeared in each page, so we repeat again and again throughout the book, 猴子🐒hóu zi, 蜜蜂🐝mì fēng, 香蕉🍌xiāng jiāo.
The Lion was chasing the monkey. The monkey had to run very fast. We’ve learned “running fast” from the song “Two tigers”. 跑得快 pǎo dé kuài.
At the end of the story, the monkey and the bee enjoyed eating bananas together. They are “good friends “ (好朋友 hǎo péng you). Monkey’s big tummy was full of bananas. Big tummy 大肚子 dà dù zi.
It is amazing to see kids building what they have learned in mandarin class.

We ended the week by making delicious pumpkin muffins.  Mmm....were they good!

Next week we will have our Halloween parade on Wed, Oct 31st.  Children can come in their costumes.  Parents are invited to watch the parade at 11:45AM.

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
