We had a very busy week! We planted sunflowers, had a Teddy Bear pajama party, a combined birthday/going away party for Claire, and prepared more surprises for Mother's Day.
In Ms. Peishuan's class, the children were introduced to a few new words such as: sun, moon, and tree. She read the classic story, Harold's Purple Crayon and repeated the new vocabulary words during the story. Harold is a boy who draws things with his crayon that come to life. At the end of the story, the children pretended to draw some of the objects into the air.
Ms. Lisa reviewed the songs "Spring is Here," and "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" for our spring concert. She reviewed her note flash cards - Blue, Jello, Pineapple, rest, a double rest. She also introduced a new 4 beat note, "Huckleberry."

In Ms. Yuting's class the children learned "Where is Thumbkin?." The children played Do, So, Do during the "Run Away, Run Away" part of the song. They also reviewed Mississippi Hot Dog and Twinkle variation A.

The letter we learned this week was "N." The children practiced writing it and sounding out words that began with the letter. They brainstormed a list of words beginning with the letter such as: nuts, nest, noodles, Neptune, Nastia, no, and nose.
On Thursday, we celebrated filling up the Gem Jar, by having a Teddy Bear pajama party. The children all looked so adorable dressed up in their pajamas carrying their stuffed animals. We put on a small production of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." They wanted to keep doing the story numerous times and had the chance to play all of the characters. Ms. Peishuan also read the story in Mandarin. She taught the children the words for papa, mama, baby, and bear. We concluded our celebration by making delicious chocolate chip pancakes. Mmmm... were they good!

We are having the best time!
We ended our week by celebrating Claire's 4th birthday. We are all so sad that Claire is leaving school to go to China, but we look forward to seeing her in the fall. We will miss her!
Happy 4th Birthday Claire!
Taking a rest after a long day's work!
Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
