This week started off our holiday unit. We started our week off by finishing a few special holiday projects that the children will give to their parents at our holiday party on Friday, December 20th.
The children made phenomenal winter snow globes by painting snow and snow flakes onto lamination paper. We then glued a picture of them playing in the snow and laminated them. They are so adorable!
The children also made mittens out of construction paper. The children sewed around their mittens with yarn and a plastic needle. The children certainly used their fine motor skills on this project. They finished their mittens off by gluing white glitter on the top. We put them on the mantle of our holiday bulletin board, which looks spectacular!
Music with Ms Lisa:
The children passed a ball around while listening to Winter by Vivaldi and they practice singing with Piano (quiet voices) and practiced singing with Forte (loud voices). They also sang "Noel while playing the bells and finally sang the Dreidel song.
Notes from Ms. Yuting:
In the piano lessons, we made up a song using the tune of Frère Jacques to help us remember the finger numbers and the proper finger shape.

On Friday, December 20th at 9:30AM we invite all parents and family members to our Annual Holiday Party. The children have been preparing a nice holiday program of songs to sing for you. We will start our concert promptly at 9:30AM in our classroom. Then, the children will give out presents to their parents
On Thursday, December 19th, we will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30-6:30PM for parents and children. It will be held upstairs in the extended day room. We would love to have you join us!
The letter of the week was "S." We practiced writing the letter in our workbooks and how to sound it out. The children came up with a few "S" words, such as: snake, snow, slow, and sunny.
Have a great weekend!
Love,
Ms. Bonne & Ms. Denise
