FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

We had a great start to the new school year.  It was so exciting watching the children develop new friendships and exploring all the different parts of our classroom. Every week at circle time we assign a child to be the calendar person and another child to report the weather.  This week our calendar person was Neatai and our weather person was Daniel.  Next week we will add jobs to our job chart, such as line leader and lunch helper.  

This week we read, " One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" by Dr. Seuss, "Chikka Chikka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault, "What is Different" by George Siede.

Meet and Greet before school:

 On  Tuesday, we practiced writing our names, counting how many letters are in our name, and drawing a picture that begins with the first letter of our name. Since it was such a beautiful day, we ventured to the playground on Moffat street down the block.  We had so much fun on the slide, the swings, and the structure. 

 

Wednesday, the children had so much fun building with the translucent builders, playing with play dough and drawing on the rainbow scratch paper.  We also had fun singing while Mrs. B. played the piano.  

We started the first letter of our workbook, the letter "L." Each child has their own book and will be learning to write a new letter each week using the "Handwriting Without Tears" program.

REMINDERS:

***Please include forks or spoons for your child's snack and or lunch. 

***Please complete the online survey each day for your child before school every day.

***Please make sure your child has extra back up clothes in their cubby.
