Dear Parents,
The children had so much fun preparing for Halloween. They started off the week by listening to some Halloween stories and some spooky songs. Then the children created unique monster magnets using markers, foam pieces, and stickers. They look great adorned on our bulletin board!
On Tuesday, the children used pumpkin cookie cutters and orange play dough to make funny face jack-o-lanterns. They stuck jewels, googly eyes, sequins, and pipe cleaners into the play dough. The project was a little challenging for the children to get the pipe cleaners into the pumpkins. However, the children seemed to really enjoy the project.
The highlight of the week was our awesome Halloween party. The children decorated pumpkin shaped cookies. First they spread the orange frosting on their cookie and then added many different types of sprinkles on top. I m not sure if they had more fun making them or eating them.
Other areas of fun in the classroom:
The children had a blast dancing to spooky Halloween music! Afterwards, we had a Halloween parade around the school. The children were so excited and proud to show off their costumes.
