PREPARING FOR EASTER AND PASSOVER!

 Dear Parents,

We introduced our Easter unit by reading Pete the Cat's Big Easter Adventure, by Kimberly and James Dean.  The children then decorated Easter baskets with various Easter and bunny stickers.  We also added a few other treats to their baskets.

On Wednesday, the children decorated eggs with white crayons and then dipped them into containers filled with water, a little vinegar and Easter egg coloring. The children became so excited that they could hardly wait for the few minutes it took for the color to soak into the egg. They started screaming and laughing.  I found my self being just as excited, listening to the children's laughter.

On Thursday we celebrated passover by reading A Sweet Passover, by Leslea Newman. It is s a wonderful story about how a family celebrates all the traditions of the Passover holiday.   After listening to the story the children made fried Matzah.  Mmm, was it delicious!!! Matzah is unleavened bread eaten during the Passover.
