HALLOWEEN IS FINALLY HERE!

Dear Parents,

This week we finished making bats and ghosts which are displayed
on our classroom bulletin board. Please stop by our spooky Halloween board display.

On Tuesday, we had a fabulous Halloween celebration.  We started our day by listening to Halloween stories and then we decorated pumpkin cookies with frosting, sprinkles, and candy corn. We then created puppets with Halloween costumes.  The children also had fun walking through a haunted house in the Whole Notes room.

We concluded our festivities with a fun costume parade.  The children looked adorable in their costumes.  I'm sure you will all agree.

In Mandarin, Ms. Peishuan sang a fun song called, "We Are Together." She then brought out her black spider friend and he crawled all the way up to her neck! Then, we played Halloween freeze dance.

On Wednesday,  we took a nature walk.  We collected all different kinds of leaves. We then went back to our classroom and sorted them by color and then we glued them onto a leaf chart.

Ms. Sara led an engaging music class.  The children sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Pop Goes the Weasel, Michael Finnegan, and Humpty Dumpty."

We concluded our week with two science experiments.  We made gooey and sticky slime.  We added water, blue paint, glitter, glue and slime powder and then mixed it all up.  The children had such a great time squeezing and squishing it.

The next experiment we preformed was with pinecones.  We put three bowls out, one with hot water, one with cold water and an empty one.  We had the children make predictions of what would happen.  Some of them said that the color would come off the pinecones and others said that the spikes would fall off  of them.

The final results were:  The spikes on the pinecone soaking in cold water closed up and the spikes soaking in the hot water opened up.

Next week we look forward to preparing for our Thanksgiving celebration.

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
