WINTER IS HERE!

Dear Parents,
This week we started our "Winter" unit.  We started off our week making name snow people. It was the perfect activity that combined fine motor skills, art, and name recognition.   The children first cut out circles, wrote a letter from their name on each circle and then glued them together.  They look absolutely wonderful hanging in our window.

On Thursday, we had so much fun celebrating Kayla's 4th birthday with her family.  We ate delicious vanilla cupcakes and listened to "If You Give a Pig a Party" by Laura Numeroff.  Thanks to Kayla's family for the special treats and for reading the fun story.

Happy 4th Birthday Kayla!

We started cutting out snow circles for our snow people project based on Lois Ehlert's book, "Snowballs."  The children chose what snow person or animal they wanted to make.  They had the choice to make a snow boy, a snow girl, a snow baby, a snow mommy, a snow daddy, a snow cat, or a snow dog.  The children then decorated their snow people or animals with various materials such as:  raisins, cinnamon sticks, pine cones, pine needles, buttons, gems, foam shapes, stickers, leaves and sticks.

Other fun areas in class:
Having a fun tea party!

We would like to thank Nora for sharing in her manatee photos with the class. We learned that the manatee can grow up to 13 feet long and can weight up to 1300 pounds.

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
