EDGAR DEGAS

Dear Parents,

This week we finished our Picasso projects for the art show and started our unit on the french painter Edgar Degas. We learned that Degas lived from 1834-1917.  He created paintings and sculptures of mainly dancers because he enjoyed depicting movement.  In his sculptures he preferred to use silk fabric for the clothing which was not common during that period.

The letter of the week was "R."  The children practiced writing it in their workbooks and on our white board. They came up with "R" words such as:  rabbit, rake, rainbow, run, and rock.

Having fun with friends:

We celebrated Sarika's 4th birthday this Tuesday.  Thank you to her family for joining us and bringing delicious cupcakes.

                            PLAYING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SARIKA!

Next week we will continue to work on our ballerina clay sculptures.

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
