ART AND MATH WEEK

Dear Parents,

We had two great weeks.  The children made their self-portraits.  It is amazing the growth the children made from the fall.  In the fall their portraits had their arms coming out of their heads and now they are coming out of their bodies.

We focused on math this week.  The children completed patterns of different colored trucks, and used unifix cubes to make colored dot patterns.  They also sorted quarters, nickels, dimes, and pennies on our piggy bank activity cards.

We learned the letter "M" this weeks.  Some of the words that the children came up with were: Monkey, meatball, mouse, mommy,
and milk.

In Music with Ms. Lisa, the children practiced using the foam violin.  They practiced the proper way to pick up their violin and make a shelf with their arms so that they will be able to hold the violin without using their hands. Then they learned some facts about Wolfgang Mozart.

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
