We started off our week by working on our sunflower painting for "Original Art Works." The children first traced a template of a flower pot and then drew three stems, a circle for the center of the flower, petals around the center and finally added leaves to it. Next week they will finish their drawing by painting them with acrylic paints!
We read "The Legend of Spookley, the Square Pumpkin" by Joe Troiano.
The children had so much fun creating their own unique pumpkins. They used shredded paper for hair, and wiggly eyes & jewels for the face.

The letter of the week was "T." The children practiced writing the letter in their workbooks. They came up with a few "T" words such as: turtle, tiptoe, Tuesday, and train.
Notes from Ms. Peishuan:
The children reviewed the words: eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and hair by adding the parts to a Mrs. Potato Head toy. They also sang a song in Mandarin about a black dog chasing a white cat.

Notes:
Please have your child to school on time. It is very important that your child doesn't miss the morning meeting. A lot of learning takes place at that time.
Don't forget about the Parent/teacher Conferences on Wednesday, November 6th.
Love,
Mrs. Boodman and Ms. Drago
