The children looked at themselves in a mirror and then described what what they saw such as: the color of their hair, eyes, and lips. Then they each their drew a self portrait. They were absolutely adorable!
On Wednesday the children created adorable craft stick houses with their families inside.

The continued to practice writing in their workbooks. The first letter that they practiced was the letter "L." The children learned the sound of the letter and came up with "L" word such as: Lilia, Lizard, Lunch, and Lion. We also practiced writing the letter "F." The children thought of a few "F" words such as: Fish, Frog, and Fast.
Sports with Mr. Perry:
The children rode the bikes on an exciting race track around the parking lot. Every 10 minutes, the children switched their bikes and chose a new one. The children also waved the rainbow streamers around. They all had a blast and cannot wait to ride the bikes again.

Peishuan's Mandarin class:
Ms. Peishuan taught the children about the Mid-Autumn Chinese Moon Festival. Families enjoy delicious food and enjoy the full moon. The mooncake is the most important food of the holiday, it symbolizes the full moon. People also light lanterns and make wishes.
Ms. Peishuan read a fascinating story called, "Shadow in the Moon" by Christina Matula. It's a story about a family who celebrates the Moon Festival with their Ah-Ma (grandmother). It blends a story of traditional folklore and the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
We concluded our week by having the children each make their own letter books. They traced the first letter in their name and then practiced writing their name. Finally, they added colored pictures that began with the letter.
Reminder: No School on Monday, September 28th for Yom Kippur
Have an enjoyable long weekend.
Best,
Ms. Bonne & Ms. Drago
