Preparing for Mother's Day

 Dear Parents,

This week, we spent much of our time preparing our gifts for Mother's Day.  The children are so proud of everything they made and cannot wait give them to their mommies. We also are learning several Mother's Day themed songs such as: I Love You Mommy, M-O-M-M-Y, and Inch by Inch.

We read a few Mother's Day books this week such as:  Mama Do You Love Me? by Barbara M. Joosse, Mommy Loves You! by Helen Foster James, and Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman.  

The letter of the week was "Y." The children practiced writing it in their workbooks and pronouncing the sound.   We came up with several "Y" words such as: yarn, yogurt, yes, yo-yo, and yellow

Fun in the classroom:

We love Pizza Day!

****Please arrive at school by 9:15AM so that children can join us for our school activities and morning meeting (which is a very important part of the day).
