Dear Parents,

On Monday, we had a discussion about elves and Ms. Mallari read The Elf on the Shelf book.  She even brought in her own elf to add to our classroom decorations, which she moved to different places around the classroom every day.

The children each created the most adorable elves.  The children even glued a picture of themselves onto their elves.  They also used their fine motor skills to practice the accordion fold (to make arms and legs).

On Tuesday, we celebrated Krampus, a European holiday. The children put their shoes in the hallway, and if they were good St. Nick would put candy in their shoes. If they were not well behaved, Krampus would put rocks in them.  Of course, all of our children received candy.

We worked on the letter "D" this week.  The children practiced writing and sounding it out.  Some of the words the children came up with were: doll, Diana, dog, and duck.  D is for duck swimming so free.  D is for dragonfly buzzing past me.

We celebrated Avery's 4th birthday this week.  Thank you to her parents for the delicious cupcakes.

Happy 4th Birthday Avery!

We finished our week off by playing Winter Bingo.  The children had so much fun playing the game.

Other areas of fun in the classroom:
Finger painting with shaving cream and water colors

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Mallari
