ALL ABOUT SNOW!

Dear Parents,

This week we started our Snow unit by making a snow globe in a jar.  The children rolled three balls of clay and stuck them together to make a snowman.  We then baked them in the oven until they hardened.  The children decorated their snowman with pie cleaners and sharpies.  The teachers then glued them to the bottom of the jar.  Finally, the children added clear glitter and fake snow into the jar.  They did such a great job making them!

We celebrated Casey's 4th birthday on Wednesday.  Thank you to her family for the delicious cupcakes!

Happy Birthday Casey!

On Thursday we did a science experiment.  The children created a snow storm in a jar.  First, the children added baby oil in a jar, and then they added glitter, water, and white paint.  Finally they broke up an Alka-Seltzer tablet and added it to the mixture. Voila, a snow storm was created!  The children got so excited that they started shouting and clapping!

We concluded our week by celebrating Jacob's 4th birthday.  Thank you to his family for the delicious cupcakes and goody bags.

          Happy 4th Birthday Jacob!

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Mallari
