Dear Parents,

This week we started our winter unit by reading How to Catch a Snowman, by Wallace and Andy Elkerton.  Then the  children made name snow people. Each child cut several white circles, depending on how many letters were in their name.  Then he/she made a face on the first circle and then printed one letter of their name onto each circle.  Finally, they glued them all together to make adorable name snow people.

On Monday we celebrated two birthdays, Audrey and Penelope.
Happy 4th birthday Audrey and Penelope.

We also celebrated William's 4th birthday.
HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY WILLIAM!

On Tuesday the children made craft stick snowflakes.  First we glued craft sticks together to make a snowflake shape, then glued jewels, sequins, and glitter onto it.   It certainly added sparkle to our bulletin board.

This week we learned how to write the letter "B." We also sounded out the letter and came up with a list of words, beginning with the letter such as: balloon, bumblebee, Bonne, and baby.  B is for bicycle, book, and ball.  B is for buttons, big and small.

On Wednesday We read the book Snowflakes, by Lois Ehlert.

After listening to the story, the children decided which snow character in the book they wanted to create, such as: as a snowmom, a snowdad, a snowcat, a snowdog, a snowboy, and a snowgirl.

We celebrated our last birthday of the week.  It was Daniel's 4th birthday!
Happy 4th Birthday Daniel

A special thank to all the parents of the birthday children, for bringing in the delicious cupcakes.

Love,
Ms. Bonne, and Ms. Mallari

The children also practiced writing and sounding out the letter "B."  Some the words they came up with were: blue, baby, Bonne, and bumble bee.  B is for bicycle, books and ball.  B is for buttons, big and small.
