UNDER THE SEA!

 Dear Parents,

We started our week by making things for our indoor Beach Party which was held in our classroom on Thursday.  The children created so many fun things, where do we start?

On Monday, the children painted fish, whales, and starfish shapes.  They added googly eyes,  and glitter to make them shimmer like the "Rainbow Fish."

On Tuesday, we made shell people by painting a large sea shell.  When they dried, the children glued on googly eyes, hair, legs and arms.

The children also made aquariums by decorating a small jar with fish stickers.  They added small shells, a toy frog, glitter, and blue water into a small plastic jar.  The results were phenomenal!

The highlight of the week was on Thursday when we had an indoor beach party.  The children decorated foam visors with various types of stickers, which they immediately tried on.  They all look so adorable in them!

We had an awesome pool in our class filled with toy fish and fishing rods.  We also had a sand table filled with shovels, pails, rakes, and sifters.

The children  had so much fun on our whale watch.  One teacher read the Rainbow Fish book, while the other teacher hid whales throughout the classroom.  After each child found one whale, they sat on the rug while the teacher read about each while the children were holding.

I found a whale!

After listening to a beach story, we are ready to go on a whale watch!

Look at the whales we found.

After our whale watch we all sat down to a wonderful lunch which included:

Bagels and cream cheese, egg salad sandwiches, cheese sticks, fruit, watermelon slices, potato chips, Pirates Booty, rice krispy treats, juice boxes, and Hoodsies.

A special thank you to all parents that donated food to our beach party.

Love,

Ms. Bonne and Ms. Mallari
