100th DAY OF SCHOOL CELEBRATION!

Dear Parents,

We had so much fun celebrating our 100th day of school! On Monday, we started the day off by counting 100 popsicle sticks. Each child made a sticker chart by counting 100 stickers by groups of 10 and then added them to their chart.  It took a lot of hard work to complete this task.

We used our counting skills all week long.  We built with 100 unifix cubes, 100 magnatiles, 100 magnet shapes, 100 Legos, and 100 wooden blocks.  We had daily challenges where the children hopped on one foot, made circles with their arms, and finally swayed their hips from side to side for 100 seconds.

The children drew a picture of what they would do with $100. They came up with many great ideas and stated that they would buy: 100 bows with jewels, 100 popsicle sticks, 100 dinosaurs, 100 green monsters, 100 shiny earrings, and 100 machines.

The children had a craft stick challenge and constructed wonderful designs.

We read several fun books about counting.  Some of our favorites were:

On Friday, we had a 100 Days of School party. The children brought in their favorite stuffed animal and we made cereal necklaces.

We had a talent show with our stuffed animals and learned that:
-Alvie’s bunny can do a cartwheel
-Dalia’s unicorn can jump
-Jonathan’s baby shark can do a backflip
-Lexi’s dog named Jewels can flip into the air
-Harrison’s Duckie can swim
-Tehila’s kitty cat can fly
-Zimri’s dog Oliver can jump
-Louis’ Rubble the dog can fly
-Denise’s Knufflebunny smells clean
-Bonne’s Red Sox bear can sing and dance

Have a nice break and we will see you on Monday, Feb 27th.

Love,

Bonne & Denise
