Dear Parents,
This week we invited several community helpers from the Newton community to visit our school.
Dr. Nelson came to our class and spoke to us about what kinds of things she does as a doctor. She shared her stethoscope with everyone and we listened to our heartbeats. The doctor handed out plastic gloves to the children and spoke about the importance of proper hand washing and keeping germs off of our hands.
The class cut out and painted fire hats in preparation for the fire department. Unfortunately, we didn't see them this week but will at a later date.
Having fun in the classroom
On Thursday, dentist Amy Portnoy visited our school and taught us about the importance of brushing two times a day and flossing to get rid of the sugar bugs (cavities). She was so kind to give each of us a bag full of items to keep our teeth healthy.
On Friday, the Newton Police Department came to our school! They brought their service dog Leo and allowed us to go into their police car and turn on the siren. We had so much fun!
****We will be closed this Monday, March 20th for professional development, so we will see you on Tuesday.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
Bonne & Denise
