HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Dear Parents,

We had so much fun preparing for our holiday party.  The children baked delicious ornament-shaped cookies.  They could hardly wait for you to try them.

We continued to work  on our alphabet letters.  This week we learned the letter "Q." The children brainstormed a list of words that begin with the letter such as: Queen, quick, quit, quiet, and quilt.  So far the children have learned 10 letters.  They have done such an amazing job learning the letters,  their sounds, and even reading simple words.

On Tuesday, the children worked on their fine motor skills by stringing beads and pasta which they turned into beautiful necklaces.  They also created winter-themed pictures by drawing with markers and adding lots of stickers.

On Wednesday, the children painted hats, mittens, bells, stars and Christmas trees at the easel which we displayed on our classroom windows.

Finally, on Friday we had our holiday celebration.  The children did a great job singing.  I am sure you will agree!  We continued our celebration by eating potato latkes, red velvet cupcakes, dipped strawberries, chocolate chip cookies and gingerbread cupcakes.  We hope you all had fun at our celebration.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Denise
